TRIUMPH ORIGINALS 2025 VOTING BEGINS: SHORTLIST ANNOUNCED
- Triumph reveals the five shortlisted entries bidding to be the most original custom Bonneville build of 2025.
- Each Triumph team is representing their country, working with their chosen local build specialist to create the most original custom.
- The public now have the chance to vote for the build that best meets the brief – Icons of British Originality.
It is time for riders and Modern Classic admirers around the world to have their say, as the Triumph Originals 2025 custom competition officially opens its public vote, inviting fans to choose their favourite bespoke build.
Five teams from around the world have been shortlisted in this ambitious global Modern Classic competition, creating custom builds based on the current Triumph Bonneville range. Guided by the theme ‘Icons of British Originality’, each country has collaborated with locally selected custom builders to create sophisticated and complex handcrafted designs.
Judges have whittled down the entries to just five beautiful builds from Brazil, France, Italy, Thailand and the UK each revealing their own unique interpretation of British cultural influence.
Recruited for their knowledge of motorcycle design and custom craftsmanship, each expert will assess how the builds meet their specific criteria - Iconic Style, British Originality, Craftsmanship and Creativity & Innovation.
The judges are: Quique Berna, Co-founder and Creative Director at Tamarit Motorcycles in Spain; Ricardo Pessoa, Founder and Creative Director of Coolnvintage in Portugal; Kengo Kimura, Founder of Heiwa Motorcycle in Japan; and Steve Sargent, Chief Product Officer for Triumph Motorcycles.
All Triumph enthusiasts around the world are now encouraged to vote for their favourite at triumphmotorcycles.co.uk before 5 August 2025.
THE SHORTLISTED ENTRIES
Brazil have entered with Gaijin, a dark and moody café racer based on a Speed Twin 1200, created by the impressive team at Shibuya in São Paulo. Hand crafted features include the subtle, sophisticated scallop design painted on the bodywork, the crease shaped into the tank and the reworked tail, designed to convey a feeling of speed and movement even when static.
Designed by FCR Original, France’s entry celebrates Triumph’s parallel twin engine, the production innovation which underpinned Triumph’s revolutionary 1937 Speed Twin. Starting with a Speed Twin 1200 RS, the team completely redesigned the rear, making the engine the focus of the build and created a one-off front wheel, creating a clean and aggressive silhouette. The paint scheme incorporates hand plated copper and gold leaf to highlight the beauty and power of the engine and features the name of the motorcycle, Hail to the Twin.
The Italian build was created by Giuseppe Carucci, founder of South Garage Motor Co in Milan, inspired by the timeless elegance, discreet luxury and evocative charm of the original 1930s and 1940s Speed Twins. Building on the muscular essence of the Bonneville Bobber, Carucci redesigned the chassis and used precision engineering techniques to build head-turning custom parts including bespoke front forks.
Moo Yong from The Zeus Custom in Bangkok, Thailand, has created Art of Motorcycle, a custom Bonneville T100 in the legendary Zeus signature style. The handcrafted full system short exhaust features a laser etched Zeus motif, while the handcrafted leatherwork features a built-in wallet with an embroidered Zeus logo, blending style with real-world function.
The UK’s entry has been built by Stockwell Design at Triumph London, inspired by the 60’s British rock ‘n’ roll movement. Using the T100 platform, The Bonneville Sunraiser catches the eye with its polished aluminum, stainless steel and bright colour scheme, finished with a bespoke cursive Triumph logo.
VOTING BEGINS
A dedicated hub on the Triumph website features details and photos of each custom build, so Bonneville and custom fans can vote for their favourite before 5 August 2025. As the public votes are counted, Triumph’s expert panel of judges will have the chance to vote again for their overall favourites too. These votes will be added to the results of the public vote, before the overall winner is announced on 12 August 2025.

● Triumph’s racing legend continues as the exclusive engine supplier to the FIM Moto2™ World Championship since the start of the 2019 season. Triumph Motorcycles provides all the teams with race-tuned 765cc triples, each of which is based on the class-leading Street Triple RS powerplant. Redefining the class, Triumph broke record after record in the inaugural year, including the first ever +300km/h Moto2™ top speed. Reflecting these great successes, the wonderful feedback, and partnerships that Triumph have had with the riders and their teams, and the incredible response from Triumph fans across the world, Triumph and Dorna, decided to extend the relationship in 2021 and again in 2023, signing a new contract for another five years of racing: 2025 – 2029.
● Triumph is working with PTR Triumph Factory Racing to participate in the 2025 World Supersport Championship. Tom Booth-Amos and Oli Bayliss are racing on the Street Triple 765. Macadam Triumph Factory Racing continues with British Supersport riders Luke Stapleford (2024 vice-champion) and Max Wadsworth. In the National Sportbike Championship, the team has a four-rider lineup on the Daytona 660; Brodie Gawith, Jayden Martin, Katie Hand and Lewis Smart, along with PHR Triumph’s Harrison Dessoy.
● In 2023, Triumph announced its intention to compete in the 2024 MXGP/MX2 and SuperMotocross World Championships, and after a successful first season, is racing with a four-rider team for 2025. Jalek Swoll, Austin Forkner, Jordon Smith, and Mikkel Haarup are racing for the British manufacturer, competing on both coasts of Supercross and the full Pro Motocross series with the TF 250-X. Triumph earned its first Main Event win in Supercross in February 2025, and has enjoyed podium finishes in the Pro Motocross series in ’24 and ‘25. In the FIM MX2 World Championship Camden McLellan is competing for a second year aboard Triumph machinery, alongside Guillem Farres with podium results from ’24 and ’25, as well as a first moto win in April 2025.
● In September 2024 Triumph revealed Motorsport legend and former world champion Paul Edmondson has officially been appointed Team Manager of Triumph Factory Racing’s enduro programme, which will see the brand represented at the highest levels of enduro competition worldwide. In 2025, Jonny Walker took 2nd place overall in the SuperEnduro World Championship on his TF 250 and finished the 2025 Red Bull Erzbergrodeo on a near-standard TF 250-E four-stroke. Racing for Triumph in EnduroGP aboard the TF 250-E, is the experienced duo of Jamie McCanney and Mikael Persson. Triumph competed at its first International Six Days Enduro in August with the TF 250-E contributing to Italy’s World Team Trophy victory and Team Sweden’s first podium in decades, as well as impressive top five individual finishes overall.
